Training Tomorrow’s Changemakers: Mentoring for Research Excellence and Career Success in Speech-Language Pathology

Join us for the SACA Spring speaker series event.

Speakers:

  2. Dr. Shubha Kashinath, PhD, CCC-SLP

Abstract: The speakers report on the results of a grant-funded program (Mahendra & Kashinath, 2022) designed to enhance mentoring and research participation of underrepresented students in speech pathology. This program focused on didactic training, leadership development, and research training. Mentees were selected competitively and worked with research faculty, professional SLP mentors, and peer mentors. Mentees completed empirical lab-based research projects or community-centered research engagement. Program outcomes and lessons learned will be shared, followed by interactive discussion with the audience.
